Description:
The Names have been alterned to protect these peoples privacy. Anyway, I am in school to be a lawyer and generally I have good letter writing skills so this is a letter defending my name in the all school choir!
Dear Mr. Choir Directory:
As a three-year member of the gospel chorale, I have found the choir to be an extremely gratifying experience. My strong history reflects the love and passion I have consistently dedicated to such a vibrant organization. Unfortunately, due to very regretful circumstances, I no longer feel the same warmth and welcome.
This past break, several members of the chorale correlated a viscous and unacceptable rumor and publicly accused me of (a) starting it and/or (b) assisting in its circulation. The rumor was that Saraha’s fiancé engaged in a homosexual act with choir member Kevin Smith. When I first heard the rumor, I was not only startled but also overly sensitive to the fact that this type of publicity could be directly harmful to the choir. This is why when members of the chorale approached me to ask what I had to do with this, I was extremely saddened and overwrought.
Although as the rumor escalated, the parties involved acknowledge its authenticity and accuracy, my respectability has been insurmountably damaged. The actions of those individuals who felt compelled to defame, slander, or spite my character is unreservedly intolerable.
As a direct result of their actions, I have endured incalculable insults, threats, and or other irrational behavior from members within the gospel chorale including threats from friends of the parties named in the aforementioned rumor. Although their anger is understood and I am extremely well-disposed, it is without merit as I have not and would never engage in such premature behavior.
I am thankful that the chorale has instituted its new zero tolerance policy. This is a positive step to restore order within the organization and hopefully prevent such untimely attacks on its members. Sadly however, the chorale and its administrators have “looked the other way” on several reported attacks infringing on my physical safety.
Consequently, I have sought council to actively and relentlessly pursue those individuals involved in the dispersion of fallacious rumors bearing my name. I will not be returning to regular rehearsals until February 5th, 2004.
As of now, I have full faith that you as the advisor will enforce the rules created to protect all of us. If at any point, enforcement is overlooked and/or unsatisfactory, I will have no other alternatives than to execute an unflinching legal battle until such results are attained.
I sincerely hope that you understand my necessary position on this matter as my safety and the safety of others is of absolute importance. I also, will not voluntarily leave a chorale I passionately love nor will I be forced out due to deceitful distortions.
With warm regards,
radioflyer

| Send it. You handeled it so professionaly, which impresess the admin. It is important that you either send it or talk to your choir instructor and tell him all your feelings. I am also a very dedicated music student and have a great student teacher relationship with my teacher. I myself plan to become a music teacher and if i had a student handel a situation like that i would be impressed.

| Threatening to sue over a personality conflict increases the "sue happy" attitude that is bankrupting our judicial branch. As a law school student you should be leading the charge AGAINST frivolous lawsuits. If you don't like the choir, find a new one.
